We bridge boudoir photography with ceremony, and create high touch experiences that make you feel deeply honoured, celebrated and comfortable as you are.
Our Mission at The Haus of Eva
We support women and non-binary folk that are navigating change in their body and are ready to start seeing theirselves from a lens of acceptance, kindness and love. A lot of women that we support are going through peri-menopause/menopause, recent surgeries, pregnancy, postpartum and weight change. If you’re done with being unkind to your body, this is your space.
Who is The Haus of Eva for?
Hi, I’m Sophie.
I grew up hating my body. As a teenage dancer, that never had the ballerina physique, I was constantly ripping apart, comparing myself and treating my body unfairly just because of it not looking a certain way. This carried through into my twenties, but it all began to slowly shift when one day I decided to turn the camera to my body and document myself. It wasn’t pretty. It was actually insanely uncomfortable. But that moment, has really shaped this journey I’ve been on.
I started photographing women in empowerment spaces in 2020, after my best friend at the time asked me to do a topless photoshoot for her. It terrified me, as this was a woman that had the ballerina body I so deeply craved when I was younger. That day really kickstarted these sessions, as more of my friends came forward and asked me to do one for them. I have learnt a lot about holding space for women in photographic experiences over the last 6 years, but one of the most profound things, was how much this has helped heal my own body image and insecurities.
I strongly believe that the more we allow ourselves to really, truly see ourselves, away from the filters and perfectly curated photos, the more we will begin to heal. And that effect I felt in my own life? I know that it’ll have the same ripple effects in every other woman’s life too. Together, we can collectively heal. But, we have to brave. And we have to get really curious.
